- Jamaica - An island nation 145 mi in length and as much as 50 miles in width. It is situated in the Caribbean Sea, about 90 miles south of Cuba. Its indigenous Arawakan - speaking Taíno inhabitants named the island Xaymaca, meaning the "Land of Wood and Water", or the "Land of Springs".
- Japanese Internment - Refers to the forced relocation of Japanese-Americans in the United States during WWII.
- Japanese Militarism - Refers to the military build up in Japan that paved the way for Japanese participation in the Axis alliance and WWII.
- Japanese Recovery - The plan set in motion by the United States to rebuild those countries defeated at the end of WWII. In Japan this consisted of a major economic investment to rebuild the infrastructure and economy of the country.
- Jara, Víctor - September 28, 1932 September 15, 1973. He was a Chilean revolutionary, teacher, theatre director, poet, singer-songwriter, and member of the Communist Party of Chile.
- Jesus Christ - A revolutionary that was later made the central figure of Christianity, and described as the "son of god" who was raised from the dead. He became one of the most influential figures in human history, but as compas we shouse him as a revolutionary that struggled on the side of the poor and oppressed (unlike many modern so-called "christians").
- Journeyman - A person who has finished an apprenticeship in a trade, and is a qualified worker employable by someone also.
- Juarez, Benito - President of Mexico during the 1860s, he was the first a full blooded indigenous president. He also led the Mexicans against the French invaders during that period.
- Justice - To be treated fairly and to have the same rights as others. UdB struggles every day for justice in our communities.
